Multiplication Math Games

Multiplication math games are the key to successfully learning multiplication while having great fun at the same time! I have used multiplication math games in my classroom and I have seen great improvements in the student’s math grades. In the younger years of elementary school, first to second grade, teachers try to introduce multiplication to their students through real-life word problems, such as: I would like to give my friends at my lunch table 3 crackers each. There are 4 people at my lunch table. How many total crackers am I giving away? To figure out the multiplication math problem the students will most likely use addition and not multiplication since they do not have experience, which is fine. But as the students grow older and move into third grade they are expected to figure out the multiplication problem by using their multiplication math skills, not by using their addition skills. Some teachers give multiplication fact cards and multiplication worksheets for classwork and homework and expect the students to memorize and quickly answer the multiplication facts. How are the students suppossed to learn and know these multiplication math tables if they are miserably boring? They will not learn as accurately or as quickly as they would if they are taught these facts through multiplication math games! While I was still teaching in elementary I used fun and interactive multiplication math games with my students and I noticed tremendous results within the first week of using these multiplication math games! Towards the end of the year all of the students in my class had easily memorized their multiplication math times tables, and they wouldn’t have done it if it weren’t for multiplication math games!
