It’s probably reasonable to suggest that all of the big three games consoles – Sony’s PS3, the Microsoft Xbox and the Nintendo Wii – all have their own strong points. Individual gamers will have their own personal favourites and it’s a futile exercise to try to convince them that one of the other consoles is better, or even equally good.

Many family homes today will have more than one, and it’s not out of the question that they may have all three, games consoles. Not to mention the various mobile consoles like the Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS. It’s quite common these days for games consoles to also see use as blu-ray disc or DVD players.

However, ignoring the almost pointless discussion regarding which console is “best”, it’s probably reasonable to suggest that the Nintendo Wii is the most sociable of the three available consoles. Whereas the PS3 and Xbox are more often than not found in teenager’s bedrooms, the Wii is just as likely to be found in the family living room. The Wii is less powerful than the other two consoles and has much less detailed graphics – more cartoon like as a rule. Even so, it is more often the Wii that can be found wired up to the big flat-screen TV in the living room.

Part of the reason for this is the fact that the Wii’s motion sensitive controller means that, even though the graphics are simpler, it’s harder to follow the action on a small screen TV when you’re jumping around like a lunatic. The other thing is that it’s easier and more intuitive to pick up how to play games on the Wii. Even adults can do it – so it’s easier for all members of the family to join in the fun.

One of the consequences of all that jumping about when playing Wii games is that more space is required to play the Wii than the other consoles. This also makes the living room a more attractive choice than the typical teenage bedroom, where you would be tripping over discarded clothes, half eaten pizzas and empty juice bottles. The physical side of playing games on the Wii is a good thing. It means that there’s a certain amount of exercise involved when playing Wii games. Mind you, you should be careful and take it easy at first. It’s all too easy to wake up with a sore arm or stiff legs after an evening playing Wii Sports for the first time.

The fact that so many Wii consoles can be found in living rooms could explain the success of the black Wii. Nintendo went to the dark side and released a black Wii console in Japan in the summer of 2009. It was released in Europe just before Christmas 2009. It turned out to be an extremely popular choice with many gamers – possibly because it matches the TV, the cable box, the DVD player etc. – better than the white version.

Multiplication math games are the key to successfully learning multiplication while having great fun at the same time! I have used multiplication math games in my classroom and I have seen great improvements in the student’s math grades. In the younger years of elementary school, first to second grade, teachers try to introduce multiplication to their students through real-life word problems, such as: I would like to give my friends at my lunch table 3 crackers each. There are 4 people at my lunch table. How many total crackers am I giving away? To figure out the multiplication math problem the students will most likely use addition and not multiplication since they do not have experience, which is fine. But as the students grow older and move into third grade they are expected to figure out the multiplication problem by using their multiplication math skills, not by using their addition skills. Some teachers give multiplication fact cards and multiplication worksheets for classwork and homework and expect the students to memorize and quickly answer the multiplication facts. How are the students suppossed to learn and know these multiplication math tables if they are miserably boring? They will not learn as accurately or as quickly as they would if they are taught these facts through multiplication math games! While I was still teaching in elementary I used fun and interactive multiplication math games with my students and I noticed tremendous results within the first week of using these multiplication math games! Towards the end of the year all of the students in my class had easily memorized their multiplication math times tables, and they wouldn’t have done it if it weren’t for multiplication math games!

Learn Spanish – Smart Tips For Fast Learning

You’ve decide to learn Spanish, congratulations! Luckily – it’s not difficult to learn Spanish. It’s no problem if languages aren’t your strong point. Spanish is spoken by so many people in the world, and you’ll have troubles finding a method that will work for you. Learning Spanish can be fun and easy, so we’ll discuss some tips you can use to help make it more enjoyable.Learn Spanish

First, be sure to get a CD course. They’re great if you’re a bit shy to learn a new language. You will be able to listen to someone pronounce the words and use them in sentences. You’ll find the CD courses are equal in quality as a classroom, yet there’s no stress about making mistakes in front of everyone. Another great benefit is you can take your Spanish course with you. You’ll be able to listen to them on a CD player, or you can also download them to an MP3 player and take them anywhere. So there’s no single location where you must learn. Just get on the net! You will have no problems at all finding great learning tips on Spanish. One such very helpful website is, Babelfish. It will translate for you. You can type your sentence into Babelfish and have it translated to Spanish. The reason this is so nice is because you can compose any sentence and have it translated into Spanish for learning. Remember, how a sentence is structured in English is not necessarily how the sentence will be structured in Spanish! Using the translation tool will help you understand how the sentence structures are different. It’s also easy to find different online apps to help you understand and learn Spanish.

Practice makes perfect! Don’t worry about you look or sound, it’s important to always practice speaking Spanish. Another tip is to replace the words in your language with the words you know from the language you’re learning. So if your new language is Spanish, then just try to use “cena” instead of “dinner” and in place of “one” use “uno.” If you practice this, the new language words will feel quite natural for you. You’ll be able to recognize the spoken words when you hear them. You’ll find that to be very helpful when you converse with people in the language you’re learning. Learning Spanish, or any other language, does not have to be frustrating. You can find so much help online. One great key to learning any language – an open mind. A more open mind helps you to more easily take in the knowledge. You will only experience more difficulty if you try to make it sound like your native language.

Hiring a private tutor is really a judgement call. The significance of good grades and your child’s ability to attain them must be taken into consideration before deciding to spend your money getting a private tutor. Ensure that your child is okay with it as well, in order to get the most benefit from the time and cash spent on a tutor.

Tutoring, SAT Prep Classes, and College Advising in Whitefish Montana

Private tutors can offer help for homework, teach test taking strategies and assist reinforce areas where your child is weak. By concentrating on whatever area which could possibly be the real cause of the poor grades, you will often see improvement after just a short time. Motivation, the learning style and the test taking skills are just a few of the reasons why your child may need a private tutor.

Even though costly, getting a tutor may kick your child into focus and solve the issue of a child who simply don’t want to try. This can be a short term solution though, as a lack of motivation might point to a bigger problem. While concentrating on the short term objective of improving grades, try to find out the root of the problems at the same time.

Your child’s learning style might be not similar to what the teacher is focusing on. A private tutor will be able to teach and explain the same info in an alternative way, enabling your child to understand the information more effectively. Normally a child recognizes the lessons, but has issues passing the test. A private tutor can take some time to focus particularly on these test-taking skills that will allow a child improve test results. Your child will be trained to stay focused during the test day and get better in remembering information.

In the event that your child has a learning disability or is otherwise not capable of performing better, a tutor can provide supplemental assistance. On the other hand, if your child is a lot smarter than his grades show, a private tutor can help challenge these students to try and do better. Employing a private tutoring service to assist your child can benefit both your child’s report card and self-esteem, letting him realize all his effort lead to getting much better grades.

Know that just as the choice to hire a tutor is a personal one, so is the choice of tutor. Regardless of whether you hire a private tutor, have your child join an after school review group, or begin going to a commercial learning center, the decision needs to be thought through with your child in mind.

At times when budgets are tight, it is essential to make the best decision regarding your child’s education. Learn when getting a tutor may be wise.

Rocket Spanish, My Review Of This Product

Following a number of years of studying Spanish in high school I had gotten slightly rusty not practicing utilizing it on a day to day basis. Nicely I am quite interested in foreign language and I thought why not learn a language that’s almost as common as English within the country I live in. So I thought I would take up the investment and time to relearn Spanish. I looked for awhile through various courses and various programs that had been supposed to become the one stop answer but was having difficulty finding one I liked. I happened to be surfing one day when I ran into Rocket Spanish. Following is just how happy I am with this application.

Following talking to her I must say I had been actually feeling pretty good about checking out the software for myself so I made the decision to start by looking it up. I was pleased to discover out right away that what she told me actually wasn’t a lie at all. No fibbing not even a small exaggeration.

I could order it and get it delivered or if I desired to I could choose a digital download from the same info. As you can imagine since printing it costs money the digital edition is much cheaper. So I chose the digital version.

I had been up and understanding Spanish faster than I could have hoped for and it was all relatively on a whim which was pretty outstanding. The application works truly well and I personally believe can help anyone get a better grasp of Spanish from whatever level they happen to become starting at.

Again I cannot emphasize enough how happy I am with Rocket Spanish. If you’re within the exact same boat that I was you should try looking into it yourself.

Multiplication Math Games-Multiplication Tricks

Each year in my teaching career I see more students falling behind because they have not memorized their multiplication math facts. Multiplication math games is a great way for your child to start learning their facts. We do not have enough time to go one-on-one with your child to make sure that they know their basic multiplication times tables. This is where multiplication math games and YOU step in. Parents need to take a big part in their child’s education if they want them to succeed, especially in mathematics because this is the subject where you can help out the most: practice multiplication math facts, play multiplication math games with them, etc. It is your job to help your child practice their multiplication math facts at home. But if your child gets distracted easily while practicing multiplication with flashcards, then what are you supposed to do to help your child learn these troublesome multiplication math tables? Use the interactive multiplication math games that we are offering you! Your children will be engaged playing these fun multiplication math games and will certainly not lose attention. There are some multiplication math games that we offer you that are challenging, so to help your child win the game and to bump up their grade to an “A” in math class he/she can use multiplication tricks! There are many multiplication math tricks that will help your child quickly memorize and get the answer to multiplication facts. Below are some of these tricks that I have used with my students. All of my students have greatly benefited from these multiplication math fact tricks. These multiplication tricks ensure quick learning!

The 9 Times Quickie

1. Hold your hands in front of you with your fingers spread out.
2. For 9 X 3 bend your third finger down. (9 X 4 would be the fourth finger etc.)
3. You have 2 fingers in front of the bent finger and 7 after the bent finger.
4. Thus the answer must be 27.
5. This technique works for the 9 times tables up to 10. This is my favorite multiplication math trick!

The 4 Times Quickie

1. If you know how to double a number, this one is extremely easy.
2. Just double a number and then double it again! This is a great and quick multiplication trick.

The 11 Times Rule- A.

1. Take any number to 10 and multiply it by 11.
2. Multiply 11 by 3 to get 33, multiply 11 by 4 to get 44. Each number to 10 is just duplicated.

The 11 Times Rule-B.

1. Use this strategy for two digit numbers only.
2. Multiply 11 by 18. Jot down 1 and 8 with a space between it. 1 –8.
3. Add the 8 and the 1 and put that number in the middle: 198

As you can see, these are some great multiplication tricks that will surely help your child memorize their multiplication math facts. Multiplication math games and multiplication tricks will improve your child’s grade. This will also help the teacher because your child will be the child that the teacher doesn’t have to worry about falling behind in math as they are learning multiplication! As they keep practicing and practicing their multiplication, soon they will not need these tricks anymore!

Multiplication Math Games-Patterns in Multiplication

In multiplication math games there are many patterns that will help your child learn his/her multiplication math facts. In multiplication math games, patterns are added in because there are many patterns in multiplication, so the more your child sees these patterns, the more they will remember their math facts. Multiplication math games are here for your child so that they can learn and memorize their facts while bring engaged and having tons of fun! Nobody likes boring multiplication math homework at night because if your child is having difficulty with their math facts, than their homework will take a very long time. Student’s will lose interest in multiplication as soon as it is introduced, unless there is something fun that comes along with it. All kids want to have fun in school, and for some of them that is the only way they will learn. Multiplication math games gives your students/child the opportunity to do just that. These multiplication math games are mostly for third, fourth, and fifth graders, but if you think that your child is ready for multiplication earlier than that, then why not give it a try. Patterns take a big role in learning multiplication math facts and multiplication math tables. In the multiplication math games that we are offering you we have put in some multiplication patterns, so that your child will pick them up and have a quick and great experience with learning multiplication. So here are some patterns that will appear in some multiplication math games.

Seeing the Patterns

1. Use a multiplication grid or let your students/children create one.
2. Look carefully at all of the patterns, especially when the numbers correspond with the facts e.g., 7X8 and 8X7 = 56
3. Let students/children practice the ‘fast adding’ which is what multiplication is.
4. When students can count by 3s, 4s, 5s 6s, etc. they will automatically know their multiplication tables.

These are some patterns which can help you remember your multiplication facts, that you might just find in multiplication math games.

2× is just doubling the number. The same as adding the number to itself. 2×2=4, 2×3=6, 2×4=8, etc.

So the pattern is 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20

(And once you remember those, you also know 3×2, 4×2, 5×2, etc., right?)

5× has a pattern: 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. It always end in either a 0 or a 5.

10× is maybe the easiest of them all, just put a zero after it! 10×2=20, 10×3=30, 10×4=40, etc.

9× has a pattern, too: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, 90

Now, notice how the “units” place goes down: 9,8,7,6, …? And at the same time, the “tens” place goes up: 1,2,3,…?

You can use this pattern to prompt your memory this way: the tens place will be 1 less than what you are multiplying by!

Example: 9×7 … go 1 less than 7, so the tens place is 6, and then remember 63

What a student wants to do in their gap year should be completely up to them, whether they want to keep it simple or do something more structured. One thing that might help them decide, though, is the knowledge that many schools, such as universities and colleges, now either accept a year’s deferral for accepted students, or sometimes even promote certain types of programs for the year, helping them to engage in many worthwhile activities before settling in and pursuing their degree.

Universities that either accept or even encourage taking a gap year are multiplying in the United States. Harvard University might even be called an old hand at this, since for 35 years they’re been sending acceptance letters to applicants suggesting that they might want to defer for a year, to give themselves a breather after high school. And Yale, another grizzled veteran of the gap year, has always allowed a student to take the extra year. It just doesn’t actively suggest it the way Harvard does.

Some schools, though, now go so far as to actively facilitate the gap year after high school. Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for example, has a “January Program,” allowing students to take the first semester off so they can transition gradually to a more adult school life and atmosphere. The college sponsors programs for the young people, with such things as taking a mountaineering course, studying in Italy, or working on a political campaign, and stays in contact with them while they’re away. Princeton University also now has what it calls a “Bridge Year” program, where students can defer their schooling for a year, spending that time in community service in another country.

Even at the high school level, the gap year concept is being promoted. For example, the Los Angeles college preparatory school, Harvard-Westlake, has hosted “gap year fairs,” where representatives from various programs present the available opportunities to students. Other public learning institutes are beginning to follow suit.

If a student wants to take a gap year and have a break, then he or she can go in several possible directions. The young person might choose the fairly unstructured way of just living at home and having a job for a year. Or there’s the more fancy free youth travel option, with a backpack. But if they’d still like a bit of structure and supervision, then they may want to see if their own schools have gap year work programs, and get the best of both worlds.

Does your child like playing Uno? I know that I do and this is why I introduced some multiplication math games to my students, including this brain boggling (great game for third, fourth, and fifth graders) game called multiplication uno. Multiplication uno is one of the many thought-captivating multiplication math games! It is simple to play and all you need is a deck of uno cards and you’re ready to go!

Here’s how you play this interactive multiplication math game that is especially a great elementary math game!

In regular Uno, players can discard only those cards that match either the color or the number of the card most recently placed on the discard pile. You can modify this to teach multiplication and factoring. You can make it a rule that the only cards that can be discarded are those that are whole-number multiples or factors of the last card discarded. Kids can often really get into this when they’re playing against people they really want to beat!

Your students/child will have a blast playing multiplication uno. This multiplication math game will help them with learning their multiples, factors, and multiplication facts, while they have lots of fun at the same time!
