Multiplication Math Games – Learning with Music and Card Games

Have you ever thought of using a simple deck of cards to play multiplication math games?  Here is a fun, interactive math game to play with your child to help him/her master their multiplication facts.  The game is called Product War!  Here are the simple rules:

1.  Shuffle the deck of cards and divide them evenly among the players. (Jacks, Queens, and Kings represent the number eleven, an Ace represents the number one and the Jokers represent the number zero.)

2.  Each player turns over two cards and multiplies the cards to find the product.

3.  The player with the highest product keeps all of the cards.

4.  When all cards have been used, the player with the most cards wins the multiplication math game!

Multiplication math games are a great way for your child to learn their math facts, but if your child loves music, here is another way to motivate your child to learn their facts- use these fun, upbeat songs!  Many children are auditory learners- this means that the easiest way for them to learn new concepts is through listening.  There are also many kids who enjoy movement and these CDs will provide them with an opportunity to dance and sing as they learn their multiplication math facts.  There are four CDs that contain songs that present the facts slowly for beginners, then at a faster tempo for the advanced learner.  After kids become “math fact experts”, they can practice with these raps- with or without the answers.  You can find these CDs for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division at www.twinsisters.com.
